Siyanda joined Nova in 2021 as a survey fieldworker for a project in an informal community in Limpopo. He excelled in various surveys, including comprehensive household surveys, wood weighing surveys, detailed energy surveys, data logger deployment surveys, and qualitative surveys assessing the impact of interventions on household quality of life.

In May 2023, Siyanda was promoted to a Project Coordinator for Nova. His current responsibilities include providing technical and fieldwork management services, recruiting, interviewing, and training field workers, engaging with stakeholders, and liaising with households from the community.

He was extensively involved in setting up and managing several waste sorting facilities for an informal community which previously had no waste collection service.
