Rev Moses (Moshe) Selaelo Maponya, was born on the 18 February 1979 in Mamelodi. He attended both his primary and high schools at Mamelodi, and furthered his tertiary education at University of Pretoria, where he obtained his
• University Diploma in Theology
• BA (Honours) in Theology
• MA (Theology)
He was ordained as Minister of the Word at the Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa (URCSA) in 2007 and served in URCSA Lebowakgomo congregation until 2015. During this period, he also obtained his Master of Theology at Western Theological Seminary at Holland Michigan in the USA.
Later in 2015, he was called to serve URCSA Polokwane City where he is serving until now. Rev Moshe Selaelo Maponya is currently a PhD student in Missiology at the University of South Africa (Unisa), embarking on a research project on the topic ‘Discerning Missional Ecclesiology for the congregation of URCSA in Polokwane in dialogue with the Belhar confession’.

He is married to Ruth Mathobela Maponya (nee Selemela). They are blessed with two boys Mogau and Lereko
